I’m Sanam Pejuhesh. I offer play therapy to children, as well as psychotherapy and support for those who want to get better acquainted with their own inner child.
I am excited to bring my passion for life and growth, as well as my experience, to the work I do with children and adults. I have been working with children for twenty years in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, schools and alternative programs for children with behavior issues, the Children’s Hospital of Oakland with children with chronic disease, as well as with families with children with special needs children.
I have a Masters Degree from San Francisco’s California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in Integral Counseling Psychology. This was the first East-West, transpersonal psychology graduate program in the world. During my graduate studies, I did one year of training and supervision in Gestalt psychotherapy while working at the Church Street Counseling Center in San Francisco. Prior to this, I earned my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of California Berkeley.
Currently, I am registered with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies and am excitedly working on licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist. I am fortunate to be working under the outstanding supervision of Dr. Byron Norton, EdD, RPT-S and Lisa Dion, MA, LPC, RPT-S. I have completed an intensive training in Play Therapy with Drs. Byron and Carol Norton. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the Association for Play Therapy.
Throughout my years of education and training, I have also cultivated my passion for travel and the outdoors. I believe that fostering our passions gives us a medium to make deeper connections with ourselves and others. I have also experienced the struggles and stresses that life can present us with; thus, I know that therapy is a priceless source of support and comfort in difficult times.
In my practice, I am fully committed to the well-being of my clients. I am dedicated to providing the highest level of support and compassion, while creating a space in which they can feel, explore, learn, grow and heal.
